Blade Size
The bigger the blade size of a fan, the lower the speed motor generates. This means the noise can be decreased because the speed of the fan motor is lower. However, the most difficult challenge the R&D specialists face is how to put the biggest fan blade into a 2ft x 2ft fixed ceiling size.

Air Input and Design
The air input way of a ceiling fan is not the same as the traditional fan which is from the back side. They need get air by the side. Some people think the big size of ceiling fan can’t fit in a small room. Moreover, the faceplate is too thin, the air input doesn’t have enough volume to produce. Some manufacturers will make a lot of holes on their fan to increase the air input duct, but this method is not suitable in most rooms or environment.  

Air Volume and Noise
Choosing the small fan blade in a limited space becomes the only solution for most manufacturers. The small fan blades will produce louder undesirable noises to the working environment (most manufacturers pick 14 inch fan blade), even though the fan is still generating enough air volume through the increasing motor speed.
